Dr. Ito joins to Schlumberger in 1992, works on the development of oil exploration and exploitation technology, since 2006, through the joint research with Prof. Morinobu Endo of Shinshu University to development of high performance material Nanocomposites technology. From 2007, Dr. Ito becomes a key researcher of three Japanese national projects, funding by METI (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry), MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science & Technology) and JST (Japan Science and Technology Agency). In 2010, Dr. Ito successfully commercialized the HTHP (high temperature high pressure) sealing system using this newly developed innovative Carbon Nanotube/rubber composite material, and applied to HTHP reservoirs and deep water . He marks first successful story in the world to introduce the nanotechnology for oilfield, to enables quantum leap in oil recovery, to detente the energy crisis.
